Manifesto
We ended up creating an app to make room for chance.
To walk, see an exhibition or have a coffee with someone we know almost nothing about. To start a conversation, simply.
A little structure to get started.
Suggesting an activity to someone you don’t know is easier when they have chosen the same one. Offering or joining a taat means giving each other permission to begin.
An activity, a public place, a chosen time and duration. You know what is on offer and how much time it takes. You already have that in common.
Leave room for chance.
Talk with a person before reducing them to a photo, a bio or a few criteria. With no preconceptions.
At 20 or at 70, backgrounds and habits can be very different. A walk or a coffee is enough to begin. You get acquainted on the spot.
This moment is yours.
A shared moment does not need to be filmed, posted or told to everyone to matter. We want to give it room to exist without having to put on a show.
Sharing an activity commits you to nothing else. You can talk about it or keep it to yourself. How you tell the story is up to you.
Your privacy is part of the project.
Your activities and location are not used to target advertising. Location access is activated at your request, with no background tracking.
Your phone number is used to sign in. Other participants cannot see it. No name, photo or bio to add: you get acquainted on the spot.
taats: An activity. A public place. A chosen moment. Two people. The rest happens in real life.
